ACCRA - GHANA Experience

ACCRA - GHANA Experience begins from here...

This is such a memorable experience that will linger on and on.
I began to long and desire for a way to assist in fulfilling the Dreams and Aspirations of some people who do not have the qualifications to have a formal education yet they possess beautiful dreams, aspirations and ideas that will make the world a better place. As I longed and researched on this, I discovered the massive wealth locked down in another world not so popular but that we cannot do without.

Its such a world we just cannot do without on a daily basis. I discovered this beautiful world of  INFORMAL EDUCATION....the world of Apprenticeship. I mean the Technical and Vocational Education, COMBINING WORKPLACE AND SCHOOL BASED TRAINING. Wooow! I just cant get over it. I researched deeper and deeper and I found out the best place to start this wonderful world of adventure is right in Accra - Ghana, West Africa.

In my research, I discovered GSDI, what is GSDI you wonder? Don't be in a haste, I will answer that fully soon but just calmly come along with me. I quickly sent a mail to GSDI making my intention known and shortly after my mail was sent I got a reply from a Representative of GSDI who simply explained to me in just one paragraph what GSDI is and I realised I was just where I was supposed to be.
With the soft tones of the mail, I easily got connected to the writer whose attributes could be felt vividly from her writing. Her name is Andrea. Oh my God, Andrea is such a visioner who understood my objective and she quickly connected it to GSDI's project. It was such a perfect blend of vision and understanding. The energetic and unrelenting Andrea just took it from there and turned it around not just into a minefield but literally into gold, diamond and silver. This spurred my ever - ready, always-on-the-go CAMPUS SNEAK AFRICA Team to go buy our tickets and head to Accra - Ghana. It all started from here. We fixed the dates, bought the tickets, put all equipment into gear, packed our backpacks and then we set the course. We flew the air, traveled the road and alas.......WELCOME TO ACCRA, GHANA.
Landed in Accra - Ghana at 23:20 on a Tuesday night, and guess who we saw first the next morning: Andrea! The rest from there is history.
Now let me tell you what GSDI means. GSDI is the GHANA SKILLS DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE. GSDI is implemented on behalf of the German Government via the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GIZ GmbH in cooperation with the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET).
The GSDI is building capacity in the informal sector which generates about 80-90% of employment in Ghana.
The project improves the quality of the traditional apprenticeship system which suffers from structural deficiencies. In order to upgrade the skills and qualifications in the traditional apprenticeship system, the project supports COTVET innovative approach to introduce competency based system training (CBT) standards and a cooperative training model COMBINING WORKPLACE AND SCHOOL BASED TRAINING.

GSDI takes a threefold approach:
* Modernizing Traditional Apprenticeship.
* Strengthening Trade Associations.
* Strengthening Training Institutions.

GSDI is a project cooperating with Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institutions in three regions in Ghana.

Then Andrea introduced the CAMPUS SNEAK AFRICA Team to Jeanette.

When I met Jeanette then I realised why Andrea is the way she is. Who is Jeanette you say?
Hmmm...how do I best describe Jeanette? Mrs. Jeanette Burmester (Phd) is first and foremost the TEAM LEADER of GSDI in Ghana. This tall, very friendly, energetic, goal driven, fun to be with Team leader and visioner met Jazzyb and the Campus Sneak Africa Team the very first time and it was as if we had known each other in ages, she poured out her heart and shared her story with so much brilliance  that we almost didn't want to leave. I remember the cookie Jeanette offered me and the Team as we met the very first time even before she introduced herself. The mother of three who has traveled (and still is) opened up her office and staff to the CSA team and it was such a strong time of learning, sharing and bonding, only that you can get a full feel from making sure you watch the CAMPUS SNEAK AFRICA episodes on LOVEWORLDSAT.  We actually visited Jeanette during her birthday.

And then we met Nicole, the Head of the Development Corporation from the German Embassy in Accra - Ghana representing the German Government on our Tour. She breezed in right on time as we requested.

Nicole Maldonado(PhD), a warm, beautiful and reserved personality chatted all the way with me on this very interesting and laudable adventure that brought CAMPUS SNEAK AFRICA to Accra - Ghana.

 Honestly, this is soooo much an adventurous, very educative, instructive, eye - opening and entertaining Campus Sneak Africa Episodes you cannot afford to miss on LOVEWORLDSAT.
I dare say you would watch these episodes again and again and it will strike strings of chords in you.
